This means encouraging people to attend local government meetings, learning about the political process, and even running for office themselves. When people are more engaged in the political process, they are more likely to vote and have a greater influence on the decisions made by their elected officials.

Another important step is to reduce the influence of money in politics. This can be done by limiting campaign contributions and requiring more transparency in campaign financing. When money has less of an impact on political campaigns, it opens up the playing field to candidates who may not have as much financial backing, but have great ideas that can benefit their communities.

Lastly, making it easier to vote is crucial to increasing political participation. This can mean implementing same-day voter registration or expanding early voting options.
