What can individuals and communities do to help combat urban poverty?

Individuals and communities can do a lot to help combat urban poverty. Poverty is when people don't have enough money to buy the things they need to live. This can happen because they don't have jobs or their jobs don't pay enough.

One thing we can do is donate money, food or clothes to organizations that help people in need. We can also volunteer our time at shelters or soup kitchens.

Another thing we can do is support small businesses in our community. When we buy from local stores, we're helping to create jobs and support the local economy.

We can also advocate for policies that help to reduce poverty. For example, we can write letters to our politicians asking them to increase the minimum wage or provide more affordable housing.

It's important to remember that poverty is a complex issue and there's no one solution that will fix everything. But by working together and supporting each other, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling.
