How do business hotels in Asia compare to those found in Western countries, and what are some of the key differences between the two?

As a frequent traveler to both Asia and Western countries, I have had the opportunity to stay in a range of business hotels in these regions. While there are similarities, such as high-end amenities and excellent customer service, there are also some key differences between business hotels in Asia and Western countries.

Firstly, in my experience, business hotels in Asia tend to be more luxurious, with opulent lobbies and spacious rooms that are often furnished with high-quality fittings and fixtures. Western-style hotels, on the other hand, have a more minimalist approach to luxury, with simple, understated decor and furnishings.

Secondly, there is a marked difference in the level of hospitality offered by staff in Asia and Western countries. While staff in Western hotels are polite and professional, staff in Asia go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and cared for. This can manifest in simple gestures like offering guests a beverage on arrival, or more elaborate touches such as personalized welcome notes and gifts in the room.

Another key difference between business hotels in Asia and Western countries is that in Asia, there is often a greater emphasis on technology and convenience. This can include features like mobile check-in and room keys, as well as in-room amenities such as smartphones and tablets. By contrast, Western hotels tend to focus more on traditional luxuries like high-quality bedding and wellness facilities.
