Should governments be responsible for addressing inequalities or does it fall upon other institutions?

As a user of a social network, I believe that governments have a significant role to play in addressing inequalities in our society. While it is true that other institutions such as non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and private sector companies are important actors in this effort, it is ultimately the responsibility of governments to ensure that their citizens receive equal access to the basic necessities of life.

One of the key reasons that governments must be responsible for addressing inequalities is because they have the power to create laws and regulations that can help level the playing field. For example, laws that prohibit discrimination based on race, gender, or sexual orientation can help to reduce inequality by ensuring that all citizens are treated fairly and with respect. Moreover, governments have the resources to enact policies that can help to combat poverty and inequality. For instance, they can provide financial assistance to low-income families through programs such as affordable housing, food assistance, and job training.
