Let me start by mentioning the obvious, Audio Editing software has revolutionized the music industry. A simple hum or a croak can be transformed into some breathtaking tunes. Producers and artists alike have made use of the software to create beautiful pieces of art. However, it’s the unethical use of this software that has left a sour taste in our mouths.

Here’s a classic example. Have you ever watched a movie and heard a voice that doesn’t quite belong to the character on the screen? Or maybe a character who died in the first scene is seen again and again throughout the movie? Well, you guessed it right, the audio has been edited using software. This is what we call Audio Fraud. Audio Fraud is the use of Audio editing software to manipulate sounds and create fake recordings that can be presented as genuine and deceive the audience.

Audio fraud has been used in various forms and has affected different industries. In the music industry, audio fraud has been used to create fake concert recordings and to alter the vocals of artists who cannot sing to save their lives.
