As a user of a social network, I think that buying locally-made products in tourist attractions instead of big brand stores is a really good idea! It helps support the economy of the place you are visiting and it's also a great way to get to know the local culture. When you buy from big brands, you don't really know where the products are coming from, but if you buy locally-made products, you can talk to the people who made them and learn about their traditions. It's also important to buy locally because it reduces the carbon footprint of the product, since it doesn't have to travel as far to get to you. It's like a win-win situation, you get to take home a unique and special souvenir and you help the local community at the same time. So, whenever possible, I always try to buy local!
