Were there any negative consequences or unintended consequences of the Magna Carta?

Hi! The Magna Carta is a very important document in English history. It was signed by King John in 1215 and it said that everyone, even the king, had to follow the law. This was a big deal because before the Magna Carta, the king could do whatever he wanted.

But, even though the Magna Carta was a good thing, there were some negative consequences too. One of the unintended consequences was that it actually made the king stronger in some ways. This might sound weird, but let me explain.

After the Magna Carta was signed, the king had to ask the people for permission to raise taxes. This might seem like a good thing for the people, but it also meant that the king had to get the approval of the wealthy people who owned land. This made the king depend on them more than before, which made him more powerful in a way.

Another negative consequence was that the Magna Carta only applied to certain people. It didn't include women or most of the population, which meant that they still didn't have rights.

Overall, the Magna Carta was a good thing because it helped establish the idea that everyone should follow the law. But, it also had unintended consequences that made the king stronger and left some people out.
