How did the Battle of Hastings impact the religious landscape of England during the Middle Ages?

The Battle of Hastings was a big battle that happened in England a very long time ago. It was fought between two groups of people, the Normans and the Anglo-Saxons. The Normans won the battle and became the new rulers of England.

Before the Normans came, the Anglo-Saxons were in charge of England. They were Christians just like we are today. But the Normans were also Christians, but they came from a different place called Normandy. They spoke a different language and had different customs.

When the Normans became the rulers of England, they started to change things. They built cathedrals and churches in their own style. They also brought priests from Normandy to be in charge of these new churches.

The Normans also made a new law that said that everyone had to follow the same religion, which was Christianity. This was different from before when people could practice different religions.

The Normans also started to use Latin in church instead of the English language that people were used to. This made it hard for people to understand what was being said during church services.
