Is it true that Mac OS is less prone to viruses compared to other operating systems?

As a user of different operating systems, I can confidently say that Mac OS is less prone to viruses compared to other operating systems. Although no operating system is completely immune to malware, Mac OS has proven to be more secure due to its closed system.

Firstly, Mac OS is built on a Unix-based operating system which is known for its robust security features. Unix has been the basis for many of the security features found in modern operating systems, including Mac OS. This means that Mac OS has inherent security protocols built into its DNA, which makes it much more secure compared to other operating systems.

Furthermore, Apple has a closed ecosystem which means that the company has complete control over what software can be installed on its operating system. This ensures that all applications are rigorously vetted and only allowed to run if they pass a stringent approval process. This makes it very difficult for malicious applications to find their way onto Mac OS.

Moreover, Apple regularly updates its operating system with security patches to deal with any new vulnerabilities that may emerge. This ensures that Mac OS is always up to date with the latest security measures and is able to fend off any new viruses that might appear.

However, this doesn't mean that Mac users are completely immune to viruses. Macs are still susceptible to malware, phishing attacks, and other online threats.
