Life during the Dark Ages was very different from the way we live today. The Dark Ages, or the Early Middle Ages, lasted from about the 5th century to the 10th century in Europe.

One of the biggest differences between then and now was that people didn't have electricity. That means they didn't have lightbulbs, TVs, or computers like we do. They had to use candles or oil lamps for light at night.

People also didn't have cars or airplanes. They had to travel by foot, by horse, or by boat. This meant that people couldn't travel very far in a short amount of time, which made it difficult to trade goods or communicate with people from other places.

Food was also very different during the Dark Ages. People mainly ate bread, vegetables, and meat. They didn't have access to many types of food like we do today. They also didn't have refrigerators, so they had to eat their food quickly before it spoiled.

Another big difference was that people didn't have access to modern medicine. If someone got sick or injured, there weren't many ways to help them. People had to rely on natural remedies, like herbs or poultices, to try to heal themselves.

Life during the Dark Ages was also filled with danger. Wars and invasions were very common, and people had to protect themselves from raiders and enemies. This meant that many people had to live in castles or walled cities to stay safe.

Despite all of these challenges, people during the Dark Ages still found ways to live happy lives. They spent time with their families, celebrated holidays, and made art and music. Life during the Dark Ages may have been difficult, but people still found joy and hope in their daily lives.
