Yes, a company can succeed without good UI/UX design, but it is highly unlikely. Today, a good User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design is an essential part of building a successful, competitive brand. In fact, many companies have failed due to their website’s poor design, which led to their customers finding it difficult to navigate the website which resulted in misunderstanding the brand and lack of trust in the brand which led to poor sales and failed the company.

At the core of any business is its customers. Without their customers, the business would not exist, and in today's world, customers expect an easy-to-use, intuitive interface when interacting with brands online. From this point of view, a company must care about its user experience and design to attract and retain clients. Positive UX/UI increases the credibility and professionalism of your company. Good UX/UI design helps to create better engagement, improves usability, and as a result, increases conversions.

An example of a company that suffered from poor UX/UI design is the MySpace social network platform. Once the world's most popular social network, MySpace was providing customers with a poor user experience, failing to keep up with the latest web design technologies, and becoming an unattractive platform leading to abandonment by its users. In 2008, Facebook stole MySpace's crown and became the most popular social network due to its simplicity, attractive design, and ease-of-use.

However, there are a few examples of companies that achieved extraordinary success despite offering a less-than-optimal user experience. For example, Craiglist is one such company that offers an outdated, challenging-to-use interface, but its customers still use it. Even though they receive a lot of criticism for their dated interface, Craiglist has managed to successfully build a loyal following due to its unique offerings and the fact that they are widely known for cheap deals. But, in that case, it is a different kind of experience that people are willing to overlook in service of the specific value received through the platform.

Furthermore, some products and services aim to be so unique that their core user experience could be different from traditional design standards. Therefore, it is a case-by-case basis to know what type of customer experience a company needs and how effectively they must deliver it. For example, Google's homepage is a good illustration of a bare-bones interface, yet it is hugely popular due to clients' expectations of finding quick search results easily.

In conclusion, the importance of good UX/UI design cannot be overstated in the present era of digital marketing. A company can potentially succeed without it, but it is undoubtedly a harder path to walk. Whatever the company, product, or service, User experience should be at the forefront of the design process. A well-designed website positively influences a user's buying decision. It is ultimately the client's experience that influences how successful a company can be. As technology advances, demand for quality UX/UI, and ease-of-use will only increase. So, companies will need to keep up with the demands of their clients' user experience if they hope to remain relevant in an ever-increasingly crowded digital landscape.
