How did Feudalism affect the relationships between lords and vassals?

Feudalism was a social system that existed a long time ago, during a time known as the Middle Ages. There were different people in this system, and they had different roles and jobs to do. One of the most important roles was that of a lord and a vassal.

A lord was someone who owned land and had a lot of power. They were like a boss and had vassals working for them. The vassals were like employees who had to listen to and follow their lord's commands.

In return for their loyalty, the vassals were given land and were allowed to use part of it to farm and live on. This system made sure that everyone had a place to live and work.

The relationship between lords and vassals was very important for the success of feudalism. The vassals had to swear an oath to serve their lord and protect them when needed. They had to fight if there was a war and give their lord money if they needed it.

On the other hand, the lord had to protect their vassals and give them shelter, food, and protection. They also had to provide them with some essential items such as weapons, horses, and armor to fight if needed.

The relationship between lords and vassals was based on mutual trust and respect. If a vassal did not follow their lord's commands, they could be punished with fines, loss of land, or even death. Similarly, if a lord failed to protect their vassals, they could lose their loyalty and support.
